National Proficiency Scales and Spanish Power
If you’re wondering how the Spanish Power program aligns with national standards, this chart will give you a clear picture. Below, we compare our four program levels to the two most widely recognized language proficiency scales in the United States: ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) and ILR (Interagency Language Roundtable). These frameworks are used by schools, universities, government agencies, and corporations to assess real-world language ability. Use this chart to see where you might land upon completing each level of Spanish Power.
While these comparisons are not exact and results may vary from student to student, the chart reflects typical outcomes for learners who are consistent and complete each level of the program as designed. In most cases, students who engage consistently with the Spanish Power system, especially those who use tutoring, virtual tutoring, and guided support, will reach the corresponding ACTFL or ILR level shown. Their abilities will closely match the descriptions provided.
